Yvon Dube
Yvon Dube was born in Coaticook on March 12, 1926. He would go on to study at St. Charles Borromee in Sherbrooke from 1941 to 1948. After his first business venture, he now began his own career as a journalist at the Progres de Coaticook.
In 1956, he became the head writer for the newspaper, La Tribune de Sherbrooke.
In 1957, he became a political columnist for the same newspaper, then the following year, assistant to the head of the news department and, finally, head of the news department.
In 1960, he was appointed the manager of La Tribune, later becoming president and general manager in 1967, a position which he still holds and this position was added to the position of editor in 1972. Mr. Dube is also the director of Perpectives Inc. and Probec 5.
He became the director of the Canadian Association of Editors (C.D.N.P.A.) and National Director of Newspaper Editors.
He is a member of the International Press (I.P.I.) and holds numerous memberships in many professional associations in the world of journalism. This includes the Canadian Press and the International Newspaper Association.
We honor this well known man of accomplishment, who was born in Coaticook.
