Remarks from the Author, Roch Dandenault
This book is dedicated to the history of Coaticook through my research and the work of other people. This extensive historical document could never have been written without the collaboration and co-operation of the people of Coaticook and surrounding area. A few helpful sources include: Mgr. Albert Gravel and a Mr. Robinson; Gilles Dallaire, of the newspaper La Tribune, who corrected the manuscript, the unpublished notes of Romuald Dumond, who left, upon his death, a large quantity of historical documentation on the city, Miss Rejeanne Marcoux, who, through her experience, provided the author with access to the archives of the Town Hall; Mr. Pierre Francoeur who reviewed, corrected and put the manuscript into chapters in addition to proofing;
Mr. Roger Jean-Marie, who, by his experience and full support, worked in a way that would realize the publication of this book; the city council which, by close collaboration, made the writing of this historical document easier, and finally, all the citizens who, from far or near, have contributed to provide the author with photographs, documents, anecdotes, etc., for a more complete compilation. The author is aware, and on behalf of the whole population, thanks everyone for their participation. Their valuable assistance was essential to the writing of L'HISTOIRE DE COATICOOK.
